Adler Scaling Back Licensing Program
Home products designer Jonathan Adler, who made a major push in licensing three years ago, is scaling back his program, says a company spokesman. “We are trying to focus on expanding our core” internally developed lines including furniture, says an Adler spokesman. Adler is continuing agreements with REM (eyewear), Robert Abbey (chandeliers) and Speck Products (iPhone cases) and Kravet (fabrics). But the company ended pacts with PartyLite (fragrances, candles) and United Legwear (leggings), the spokesman said.
Adler also is creative director at Mattel’s Fisher-Price division, having introduced a 19-piece Jonathan Adler Crafted by Fisher Price collection that included apparel, play toys, cribs and dressers that are being sold through Buy Buy Baby. Adler also developed style books for Fisher-Price products, the first fruits of which were shown at the New York Toy Fair earlier this month.
