BBC Studios and Disney Announce Bluey’s First-Ever Animated Feature Film In an extraordinary milestone for the beloved Bluey franchise, BBC Studios and The Walt Disney Company have announced plans for the first-ever Bluey animated feature film. Slated for a global theatrical release in 2027, Disney has acquired exclusive rights to distribute the movie worldwide. Following its cinema run, the film will stream on Disney+, promising to bring Bluey’s heartwarming adventures to even more families.

Written and directed by series creator Joe Brumm, the movie will expand the world of Bluey, the loveable Blue Heeler pup, and her family. “This movie is designed as an immersive event for families to enjoy together,” said Brumm. Featuring the vocal talents of Melanie Zanetti and David McCormack as Chilli and Bandit, and with music by Joff Bush, the film will deliver the humor and charm that has made Bluey a global sensation.

Produced by Ludo Studio in collaboration with BBC Studios, and supported by Screen Queensland and the Australian government, the movie is poised to become a cinematic landmark for the franchise.

LEGO Group Partners with BBC Studios to Bring Bluey to Life in LEGO Form
Adding to the excitement, BBC Studios and The LEGO Group have announced an innovative collaboration, introducing Bluey LEGO sets for the first time. Scheduled for release in 2025, six new sets will join LEGO’s 4+ and DUPLO® product lines, allowing fans to recreate their favorite scenes from the show.

“This partnership merges the creativity of LEGO with the playfulness of Bluey,” said Michaela Edgerley Stovicek, Head of Preschool at The LEGO Group. Julie Kekwick of BBC Studios added, “These sets will spark imaginative play and give families new ways to connect with Bluey’s stories.”
