D3Publisher Announces the First Victorious Video Games, Based on the Hit Nickelodeon Show
LOS ANGELES–D3Publisher (D3P), a publisher and developer of interactive entertainment software, today announced a worldwide publishing agreement with Nickelodeon for video games based on Victorious, Nickelodeon’s hit live-action comedy series. Victorious: Time to Shine on Kinect™ for Xbox 360® and Victorious: Hollywood Arts Debut for the Nintendo DS™ allows players to dive into the show’s fun and crazy Hollywood Arts High School world, create their own character and become a new student alongside Tori Vega and the Victorious cast!
“We are thrilled to partner with Nickelodeon to bring the highly successful Victorious television show to life,” said Bill Anker, vice president of business development and licensing, D3P. “Victorious: Time to Shine and Victorious: Hollywood Arts Debut will make fans feel like members of the show and offer an exciting, interactive experience where they can actually become friends with the cast and explore the exclusive Hollywood Arts.”
“Building on the success of Victorious with kids, tweens and teens, this game gives fans a new way to connect with the music and characters from the show,” said Shaan Kandawalla, Vice President of Digital Retail Games for Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group. “D3P has created an innovative gaming experience that truly reflects the comedy, collaborative spirit and excitement of Victorious.”
In Victorious: Time to Shine for the Kinect, players create a Hollywood Arts show where they act, direct, play an air instrument, sing, dance and star in a music video featuring hit songs from the series! Collaborative play amongst friends adds to the fun with up to two players, co-op and competitive, to see how much star power they really have.
Victorious: Hollywood Arts Debut for the Nintendo DS will immerse players in Hollywood Arts High School, where they attend a full year as a new student and enjoy adventures alongside Tori, André, Cat and the Victorious gang. For the first time, players can attend the school and experience classes and funny situations, pulled right from the show in the form of dynamic, replayable mini-games that exist in Freeplay and Story Mode. The unique and hilarious setup allows players to decide their fate so they can rise to fame by earning a lead role in the Big Showcase, the biggest performance of the year!
The video games are based on Nickelodeon’s hit show, Victorious, the number-one live action comedy series in its timeslot on all TV with kids 6-11, tweens 9-14, and teens 12-17, reaching 14.4 million kids, 15.1 million tweens, and 11.4 million teens each quarter since it launched in April 2010. Players will feel as if they are a student at Hollywood Arts and the games provide voice acting by the original cast, including Victoria Justice, who stars in Victorious as Tori Vega.
Victorious: Time to Shine is under development by High Voltage Software and Victorious: Hollywood Arts Debut is under development by Behaviour Interactive. Both games are currently rated “RP” (Rating Pending) by the ESRB. For more information in the coming months, please visit D3Publisher at www.D3Publisher.us.
About Victorious (The Television Show)
Currently in its second season, Victorious follows teenager Tori Vega (Victoria Justice) who attends the prestigious performing arts high school, Hollywood Arts. From her first day at the school, however, Tori feels out of place among the amazingly talented students, especially mean diva Jade (Elizabeth Gillies, Broadway’s 13). But with the help of her older sister Trina (Daniella Monet, A Fairly Odd Movie, Nancy Drew) and new friends including the musically gifted Andre (Leon Thomas III, August Rush, Broadway’s The Lion King, iCarly), brooding bad boy Beck (Avan Jogia, Spectacular!), eccentric Cat (Ariana Grande, Broadway’s 13) and lovable but psychologically scrambled ventriloquist Robbie (Matthew Bennett) – Tori realizes that she was born to perform and that entertaining people not only makes her happy but may change her life. The series features original music performed by Victoria Justice and the ensemble cast.
