More Trade Shows Shift, and Shift, and…
It doesn’t matter whether you’re talking about retail, restaurants or roller coasters, these days whether or not any in-person business is open is up in the air (don’t even get us started on air travel). Case in point: just this weekend, even as Disney was beginning to open up its parks in Florida, it announced that Hong Kong Disneyland will close later this week barely a month after it reopened.
The global trade show calendar is equally in flux. In the past few days, for example, the National Hardware Show and National Retail Federation announced new plans for their upcoming events.
- For the hardware industry (as has been the case for many events originally scheduled to take place this spring), the cancellation of its September physical show in favor of a virtual event was actually a second calendar move.
- The NRF announcement, meanwhile, is a hybrid of a new show date plus the addition of a handful of smaller online events.
It’s enough to make your head spin, especially licensing professionals, who are knee deep in so many adjacent businesses. Lucky for you, we’ve been maintaining a running list of industry shows and events. Check it out here and don’t hesitate to email us with any additions and/or adjustments.
