Electronic Arts (EA) and the National Football League (NFL) are expanding their  partnership in interactive football, building on the success of the Madden NFL franchise and EA SPORTS College Football, along with new, large-scale interactive football games.

The renewed agreement cements EA Sports as the exclusive publisher of NFL video games.

“With more than 2 billion games of Madden NFL played each year, the global community of football fans connecting through play has never been bigger. Together with the NFL, we will continue to shape the interactive future of football – expanding Madden NFL, growing College Football, and creating new breakthrough experiences for the next generation of fans,” Cam Weber, President of EA SPORTS said.

To develop more authentic, creative, and dynamic football experiences, EA SPORTS will invest further in machine learning, real-world data integration, volumetric capture, and advanced AI.

The company will expand the exposure of the Madden NFL Championship Series (MCS) to a global audience with the first-ever MCS competition in Spain alongside the 2025 NFL Madrid game.

The partnership between EA and the NFL dates back to 2004 when the two signed an initial 5-year contract giving EA exclusive rights to produce NFL-licensed video games. The partnership has been extended numerous times with the previous agreement set to expire at the end of the 2025 football season.
