LIMA Turkey to Exhibit at DISCOP West Asia
LIMA Turkey will exhibit at Anadolu Screening Stand 25 at the third edition of the DISCOP West Asia digital content market and coproduction forum, taking place next week from March 5-7, 2013 at the International Ceylan Hotel in Istanbul.
The success of DISCOP West Asia demonstrates the rebound of digital content production and distribution business across a world region that encompasses countries bordering part of the Mediterranean, the Middle East, Caucasus and Central Asia. The forum will enjoy a 25% overall increase in attendance from last year.
West Asia represents a vibrant marketplace comprising more than 600 million people marked by common cultural backgrounds, a strong appetite for television entertainment, an ever growing interest for quality drama series, an Arab Spring induced demand for documentaries and an increased interest in regional coproduction deals.
More than 335 companies from 51 countries and a total of 628 delegates attended DISCOP West Asia in 2012, including 128 exhibiting companies selling content and 181 companies in Istanbul acquiring programs, formats and branded TV channels – a 32% jump in the number of West Asian broadcasters and thematic channels, cable/satellite/streaming platforms, mobile networks, territorial agents and other digital content buyers.
